This article highlights findings from one of our engineering research labs about optimizing the manufacturing process for CAR T cells, a life-saving treatment for thousands of patients with blood cell cancer.

I prepared this article to celebrate the prestigious honour awarded to one of our faculty members for his impactful work in cancer genome science. The article was reposted across several partner organizations.

Michael Smith bronze portrait unveiled at Science World

December 2024

A bronze portrait of our founding Director Dr. Michael Smith was unveiled at Science World, Vancouver's science centre. I was honoured to be asked to write the plaque that accompanies the statue, with input from those who worked closely with him. I also had the opportunity to attend the unveiling to photograph the event, to later celebrate through our website and social media.

An article celebrating the history of our building as it hit it's 20 year anniversary. Upon learning that the anniversary was coming up, I pitched the idea to celebrate through our website and social media.
